While we believe A&W was the first place to make these, here is a homemade example from our Las Vegas MOBI reporter. Pretty basic assembly - we have made these in the test kitchens ourselves as well. The Texas Toast is the kind that comes frozen and is thick and huge.

I love burgers, and i love texas toast. But a burger on texas toast? Of this i am not so sure.

ReplyDeleteI would think the crusts would aid in keeping the toppings and condiments on the burger. I fear without the crusts the bread would just slide about sending toppings all over.
Are you anti pizza crust as well? Im not a big fan of it.
