NEW Queso Jalapeno Ruffles 99 Cent Bag

The FPT received this photo of new bag of snack pack bag of chips. This photo comes to us from somewhere deep in the Arizona desert where there seems to be two languages spoken. Sources here cannot completely confirm the alternative language but we imagine it means good.

EtathaD Colorado Snowboard Trip Part 1 Back Country Provisions Steamboat Springs

One of our loyal readers Etathad recently vistited Colorado and has some food reports for us. His first stop was at Back Country Provisions in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

"I recently traveled from the hills of West Virginia to the mountains of Colorado for a bit of snowboarding action. Aside from snowboarding i also found time to visit some natural hot springs, sample several local beers, and of course enjoy several delicious meals. I had numerous sushi platters, and 2 meals containing buffalo. I will discuss some of these meals in the near future, but today i would like to focus on a lunch spot in Steamboat Springs Colorado.

Steamboat Springs is a beautiful town and it seems no matter where you are around town Steamboat Ski resort is always in view, and what a beautiful view it is.

One of my favorite lunch spots on the trip was called Back Country Provisions. This is a very cool little deli shop with an extensive menu of delicious specialty sammiches and soups. I went with a sammich called The Summit - Smoked Ham, french brie cheese, honey cured bacon, cranberry chutney, romaine, and chipotle mayo. Served with a pickle on the side.

First off i was a bit concerned about the cranberry chutney because that just doesn't sound like something i would eat, but GD it really complimented the other ingredients on the sammich and added to the over flavor in a very positive way! The sammich was a decent size but not too big that you felt over stuffed after eating it. It was not cheap, costing 7.95, however everything was very fresh and when traveling i always expect my meals to be a bit pricey. And this mafer was well worth it! If you are in the Steamboat area i would definitely suggest stopping by Back Country Provisions in downtown Steamboat and trying one of their signature sammiches!"
