Snacks: Roundtable Discussion Results

Today we held a roundtable discussion on what snacks are best. Some of the snacks mentioned were: almonds, cheetos, potato chips & oreos. Oreos seemed to have the most enthusiasm and therefore are declared The FatPride Times snack of the week.

Colossal Skewered Beach Prawns - WOW -

Reader Barnabus from the Northwest has shared a secret skewered shrimp cooking move with the FatPride Times. As seen below, he has colossal prawns on skeweres in the beach sand with fire behind. Very important to avoid wind, you might find proper location for success and avoiding sand blowing on the food. The second trick is the lemon wedge on the bottom of skewer, which keeps shrimps in place as they shrink up while under the flames. The nexus of this method involves triangulating the beach & sand, driftwood fires, and long metal skewers. Barnabus all told the FP Times that beach caves work well for this preparation as well as heating up rocks to make bread on.

Smoking It With Two Beef Briskets

FatPride Times reader DS is going whole hog tonight with a double beef brisket smokeout. The small one is 3 pounds and the big one is a nice 8 pounder. They will be cooked for just less than 24 hours at 200 -250 degrees before they get pulled off the fire. DS says watching the temperature is the key to success. This cookout is done with mesquite wood and is a very smokey project. Im told that after app. 24 hours the meat will melt in your mouth, you have to let it cool or it will fall apart. DS will be showing us the final results tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Teriyaki Chicken Over Rice With Ginger

Here is a look at one of the meals I will be eating tonight. This is the chicken over rice, this dish is nicknamed Bento. Its a fair portion for 5.00. Of course, this alone will not be enough to get me thru the night.

Cheetos Are Great However....

Late last night I was macking on some Cheetos and Diet Coke, halfway thru the bag I passed out in my chair. I awoke this morning, was at the MaxiMart buying coffee and then realized my fingers were totally orange from the cheese dust. Embarassing. I am going to email their corporate offices and ask if they might include one of those latex gloves inside the big bags. Also, my keyboard keys had to be de-oranged. Too much work. Something has to change.

Things Firmed Up

After suffering thru the morning with frequent restroom runs, I went out and got a whole bird and a pound of coleslaw. It has firmed me up. Solid movements are so easily taken for granted.

Loose Stool Wednesday

The FatPride Times wishes to give its fine readers some advice. I have come to the conclusion that cantaloupe and slimfast bars along with 3 bowls of chicken and dumplings may result in a loose stool festival the next morning. Fair warning.

The FatPride Times is proud to recommend the foodstuffs from Quiznos. They even have a condiment area where you can get jalapeno slices. Toasted is better.

Birds Are For Cooking - Not Fighting

The FatPride Times is coming out strongly against 'cockfighting' activities. Birds are here for watching fly and eating, not fighting and gambling. From CNN:

NEWPORT, Tennessee (AP) -- Law enforcement agents raided an illegal cockfight and arrested 144 people attending what one official said may have been one of the nation's largest such gatherings.

Several SWAT teams, helicopters and dozens of state troopers participated in the raid Saturday on the sprawling Del Rio Cockfight Pit. They seized about $40,000 in cash and killed more than 300 roosters.

Unbelievable.

I have learned that an individual known as Evil Drunk has the known record of eating nine Kentucky Fried Chicken Snackers. Nice Work!

Steak Picado Saturday

Wow...I just had an excellent plate of Steak Picado prepared by a real Mexican cook and I am busting. It was really exceptional. I found a new little place about a 10 minute drive from home and they have a huge menu of real authentic Mexican food. I will visit often.

No Movement This Morning

Perhaps I am back in balance, as I had no bowel movement this morning. Im not sure if I should be concerned or not. I did have a bountiful feast yesterday.

Single Movement This Morning

Just wanted to report I had one nice bowel movement this morning - as expected. I think the Quiznos helped.

2 Bowel Movements This Morning

I havent written up much lately, I have been deeply involved in eating and powernapping last few days. However, something odd happened this morning. I had one bowel movement, then 30 minutes later I had yet another full-fledged movement. This is unique - it has never happened this way to me before. I am concerned as I munch this Quizno's sandwich I just got.

Orange Juice Is Not Fruit

I heard today that orange juice does not count as a serving of fruit - especially if you buy the no pulp kind like i do. All it is is sugar and witamin C. Back to the cantaloupes I guess.

Medical Study: Laughing Fights Fat

FROM CNN: ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- Dieters looking for another edge might want to consider exercising their sense of humor -- scientists have found that a good laugh is a calorie burner not to be ignored.

It may not be as good for reducing the waistline as going to the gym or resisting that ice-cream sundae, but American researchers have found that 10-15 minutes of genuine giggling can burn off the number of calories found in a medium square of chocolate.

50 Cents Bags of Cornuts Sale Over

Last night, I was out on a fogwalk looking to capture media of a/the Sasquatch (Bigfoot) and made my ususal stop at the local Mini-Mart halfway in. I always forget that they run their sales by the month. Last month they had big Powerades for 1.00 and Cornnuts for 50 cents a bag. I went in all set and ready for those items and discovered that it was June. I settled for some Orange Juice and some microwave popcorn and didn't have a Sasquatch sighting on the way home either. However, I recommend fogwalks for all Super-Sizers. It gives you a chance to get outside without people watching you.

Food Reviews: The Good, The Bad & The Nasty

Hello people, I have just returned from a three day stay watching a friend's dog and boy did I get a lot of eating and powernapping done. I had a lot to eat and am gonna start with the combo bucket for 9.99 from KFC. Its just chicken and breading. You would think with three kinds of styles they would taste different. They didnt. The popcorn chicken is 80% breading and nasty. The strips are just big pieces of the popcorn - bad. The regular homestyle chicken pieces were very good. If you are gonna go there get the 1.00 snackers. It takes about 3 or 4 to do ya up but they arent bad.
