BBQ Chicken Pizza - Microwaveable - By Culinary Circle @ Albertson's

Team FPT is truly down with good BBQ chicken pizza and we found this single-serve one made by Culinary Circle at Albertson's on sale for 2.50. Would guess it was about 6/7" in diameter in size and it comes with a nice "flash crisper tray" for microwave heating.

This appears to be one of those 'store' brands - where they try to look fancy but keep the price low. So working under this premise, our staff set expectation levels to about a 5 out of 10. The box photo looks really tasty and we were eager to do a comparison of actual pizza to the photo on the box. As you can see above, we laid half the pizza right next to half the box and did a match-up.

As for the quality - very very good plus(8). Portion was small for a prider - we recommend you buy two. However that is our standard rule of thumb with any food item we endorse. Culinary Circle gets a solid 9 in representation as the photo matches the picture - nice work!

The JUMBO Rice Krispies Treat Square

Our friend, the original Oregon Coast Drifter, sent along the photo above. This rare sighting of the giant rice krispie treat should put to rest the "urban legend" debate about if they really do exist or not. This was seen for sale in the state of Oregon at a 7-11 store and priced at 9.95.

It appears that this Rice Krispie Treat measures in at app. 1 foot by 2 feet in size. We have assigned a Team FPT member to the location in hopes of purchasing as many as possible - not for comsumptionability, but for collectibility.

Uncharacteristic Off-Flavor & Smell Laden Cereals Recalled Nationwide by Kellogg's

Kellogg Co. has initiated a U.S. nationwide voluntary recall of app. 28 million boxes of cereal, citing "uncharacteristic off-flavor and smell". Kellogg Co. has set the blame on the cereal package liners.

A Kellogg spokesman said any potential for serious health problems is low, but told of a few customers whom have experienced nausea and diarrhea.

The recalled brands are Corn Pops, Honey Smacks, Froot Loops and Apple Jacks. Affected boxes have the letters "KN" printed before the stated expiration dates, ranging from March 26, 2011 through June 22, 2011.

Potential for serious health problems is low, Kellogg said, but some consumers could be sensitive to the affected product's smell and flavor. A Kellogg spokesman said a few customers have experienced nausea and diarrhea.

Breaking Chick-fil-A News: July 9th is Cow Appreciation Day. Dress like a cow and get yourself a FREE meal!

At the over 1200 Chick-a-Fil restaurants on July 9th there is going to be some crazy stuff going down. Anyone who shows up fully-dressed like a cow will get a free meal. Notice the fully-dressed clause - so if you go be sure and be fully covered in cow costume. That appears to be the only rule for this so creativity is wide open.

Team FPT is wondering why a cow and not "dress like a chicken day"?

The info on this is here: cowappreciationday.com

Lean Cuisine French Bread Pizza

So you are thinking why is the Fat Pride Times reviewing a "diet" foodstuff. Yes, we mostly partake in the fatty foods around here, however we also cover anything we find interesting and this item was on sale for 1.49 (normally around 2.99) so we decided to bank a few and have at em.

Also these low fat foods are great for "buffering on a bender" - meaning you can just keep putting them down your piehole as they are not very filling.

This offering from Stouffer's Lean Cuisine line was a nice buy. It toasted up nice and crisp with their built-in crisper aluminum thing. We also did a box photo to real item comparison and found these were the same as they were depicted on the box. That always earns points with the FPT staff. We encourage you to try these - also you can sprinkle your own topping onto these and pump up the volume.

Ben & Jerry's Flipped Out Ice Cream Flavor

Reverse Food Engineering at work here people. Ben & Jerry - those 2 guys who make the ice cream flavors that are always unique and named even uniquer, have released a new flavor where everyhtings all 'flipped out'.

By this we mean that the cookie crumbles that this flavor offers one would assume to find blended inside the serving are not as the photos show. They are piled high n' deep right on top - you got to do the mixin's yourself.

The ice cream was excellent - but we couldn't help feel like employees as we mixed the toppings into the ice cream. We wonder what if their labor cost goes down some on this flavor?

Taco Bell Salsa Con Queso (From Supermarket) & White Corn Tostitos

Our staffers found this jar of Taco Bell Salsa Con Queso on sale for 2.50 - and these Tostitos for .99cents with an in-store coupon. We commended them for a nice price purchase and set both up together for a pseudo-nacho platter.

Tostiros makes a solid chip - always have. They are usually priced way too high for plain tortilla/corn chips - however when on sale you know youre good with that pick.

This jar from the Taco Bell home fixins line was flat out bad. Everyone agreed that even with the Tostitos as a back-up, this Salsa Con Queso does not make the cut. As Franklin said at the tasting, "This stuff tastes like the old 7-11 squirt machine cheese - before they re-wrote their recipe to whta you get now". The only words we can think of to describe the taste of this Queso is "Hot Rubbery" - and that is not a good thing.

Pemmican Beef Brisket BBQ Jerky - The FPT team review

One of our staffers found this nice sized portion of Pemmican Beef Brisket jerky on sale for 1.99 - excellent deal. For some reason, before sampling it the overall take was this was an off-brand and expectations were set low.

To our suprise - this jerky is excellent. It is made from beef brisket meat and is nice and tender. Another suprise was when we saw 2 white packets inside the bag - one was your standard 'preservation' packet - but the other was unusual and freaked us out for just a second. Then we saw it was a little plastic keychain click-it light. We love those things - they come in handy when bendering and you drop some food or whatnot.

In closing - we want to acknowledge the great message printed on the back from the company. The message tells you that they are trying really hard to improve their products and they ask for your input on if they are doing well. We like it when companies tell it straight up. Respect the Pemmican brand.

Big ups to Jennifer in Pennsylvania for sending this video link to us. Uncle Ron is a pretty smooth feller - especially with the "Aviator" style glasses. Rock on Uncle Ron!

Potato Chip Bag Collection - Sealed/New - From Anonymous Reader

Today we received an email from "The Chipster" - a reader who collects potato chip bags - still sealed and all. The Chipster told us he wanted to share pictures of his collection with others in hopes of finding other collector's who share his passion and have his level of self-control to amass such a collection without eating them.

The collection above is of over 60 bags total - truly wide variety of chips represented - many very unique. We are proud to display his "Potato Chip Museum" on the FPT!

Food Adventures Episode 1 of 16 - Mountain Man Heads West Seeking to Sample In n' Out Burgers Among Other Things

From our fine friend Etathed in West Virginia:

On a recent journey away from my home in the mountains of West Virginia, i traveled up the western cost of the great USA. I ate many good meals and captured several jpgs along the way. One of the greatest things about traveling is enjoying different foods, both fast and fancy varieties.

Early on in my journey i stopped for lunch at an In N Out burger south of Santa Barbara. I had only visited In N Out once before, during a meet and eat with fellow prider, B2, in Las Vegas. Being a staple of fast food in the west In n Out was definitely on my "to eat" list during this trip. Double Double with onion, no tomato and vanilla shake.

After a gorgeous sunset in Pismo beach, Ca. my dinner would be a sushi feast at Yanagi Sushi. It was delicious. This place was great! delicious sushi, a nice environment, and an appetizer i never had.

In the picture above...
Upper left: Fried jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese and spicy tuna Upper right: Fire Cracker Roll - Spicy scallop and crab meat topped with spicy tuna with spicy sauce. In front: 911 Roll - chopped shrimp and spicy vrab wrapped with avocado and served with spicy mayo, and in the picture below... some yellow tail and tuna...

I would recommend this place for sure and there seems to be a few more locations if you live in these western areas, check their site to see if there is one near you.

Moc-McMuffin at Burger King - Our FPT team mobi review

Certainly most of you have seen the commercial where the Burger King guy breaks into McDonald's and steals the recipe for the Egg McMuffin so BK can re-create it and offer it on their morning menu.

One thing you cannot beat is the Burger King price of 1.00 - we have seen the Egg McMuffin at McDonald's for as much as 2.49. Overall - this is a damn good little 1.00 breakfast item. However, we defer to one of our long learned lessons here: you cannot purchase anything from a drive-thru for 1.00 that is truly good. Nuff said.

Mobi Media: Mr. Dragon's Fire Chips - Doritos - Close-up Chip Photo

Big thanks to reader Ted in San Diego who captured this photo of the new Mr. Dragons Fire Chips by Doritos. You can see the green 'tinge' on the chips - very similar to a wasabi flavor.

The staff here just loves these chips - as we have said, the fire does not linger on your tongue. They are hot with nice heat flavor - but none of the burnt tongue issues found with other heated flavor chips. If you see these - better grab them as we believe these to be a limited and regional release.

Big Mac Snack Wrap - At McDonald's - We Avoided It - But Seek Your Input

Above we have a coupon page that we found be found behind the soda machine at the FPT test kitchens. We missed this strange offering - as the coupons were months old. However, we cannot imagine this being a good thing - but we are asking you to share your story if you did get to mac one of these Big Mac Snack Wraps during their limited run.

Talk to us via the comment link below - no registration or sign-up - just check the anon or choose own name - no bs - easy to do - please people.

Abba-Zabba - Classic Standard USA Candy - Our Intriguing Report

The staff at the FPT always follows the simple worldview of "never buy just one" - its just the common sense of it mostly. When the staff newbie Tim came back from a grocery list run for us old-timers - he had brought us 2 Abba Zabba candy bars as requested. Tim is pretty cool, mostly.

For those not in the know, Abba Zabbas are thin - maybe 6"app. long sticks of white strong chewy nougat stuff with a cremier peanut butter stripe inside - like a candy "Hot Pocket", that should help some of you alls. Upon opening the first one it was eaten about 1/4 of the way in when Chet pointed out "where's the peanut butter?". Indeed - it was all white nougaty chewy stuff. In fact - as the photos show it was almost 2/3 of the way gone before we hit just a slip of the peanut butter stripe that wasnt fully there.

To confirm sanity - the second bar was immediately eaten (pics 4/5) and we hit peanut butter well before the 1/2 way mark thru the bar - no doubts.

Did we get an anomily bar or is this the new move? Staffers and some mobi-reporters are on this is variopus regions as we post this.

Doritos Mr. Dragon's Fire Chips - New - Are These A Limited Release?

Back on the ball and with the FPT staff re-assembled, our first bag of snackables came into the test kitchens last night. The highlight being Mr. Dragon's Fire Chips by Doritos.

These are a nice offering - they have a green tinge to them and have the hotness of wasabi. Whats nice is the heat does not stay on your tongue - they give you a nice hot blast - but it subsides. Very bender friendly.

Our concern is that these are a limited time offering only - our people tell us that they have been seen in only one retail shop. If you have seen these in your area - please use the comment link below to share the knowledge.

6-Week Feedbag Bender Broken Up Via Intervention From Associates

When bendering heavy with no end in sight, one is lucky to have associates who will step and stop the insanity. Via a well planned physical intervention, Barnabus (the Oregon Coast drifter), Medford Mel & Ad-Hoc Chet have snapped me (FPT Editor) out of a hypno-eating session that was at the 6 week mark. These bold men literally broke down the door to where I had been bendering, held me down and hosed me down until the trance was indeed broken.

I would like to thank them all for what may have turned into a 'suicide by over-snacking' story complete with the news coverage of them sawing my way into my room and using a joist to lift my body out of the structure onto a flatbed truck. Which would then be followed by a story of how when they cremated my body, the massive amount of oil inside of me caused the crematorium to also catch on fire which would take maybe a week to fully extinguish. Above are some photos of the excellent foods I enjoyed on this record breaking food bender - most of what I ate was not photographed as my hands were constantly covered in some sort of sauce or chip residue or lack of ability to move from my big chair to recharge my camera etc.
